For many people, the best thing about the 4th of July celebrations is the fireworks display. However, public displays tend to get really crowded, and lose that personal feel. As a result, many people choose to have parties at home, and develop their own display. While this is a great idea, particularly because you can create something truly magnificent if you’re pooling resources with a few friends, it is also very important that you understand that fireworks are not safe. And since you are throwing a party at home, it is likely that there will be children present, and children and fireworks are not a good combination. Hence, before you shop with an online fireworks store, you must make sure that you take the necessary safety precautions. Below are a few tips to make sure everybody is completely safe.
Tip #1 – Go to a Public Display
If you want to make sure your children are part of the celebrations and can enjoy the fireworks, take them to a public display. Even if you then want to go home, have a party, and light more, you could put the children to bed and not make them feel as if they are missing out. Public displays are absolutely beautiful and arranged by professional pyrotechnics experts, so you are guaranteed to see beautiful things, while being 100% safe.
Tip #2 – Do Not Allow Your Children to Touch the Fireworks
Kids are naturally curious, and they want to be a part of things. However, they are simply not equipped to understand the dangers associated with fireworks. You may believe that sparklers are completely safe, but they are not. In fact, they cause many injuries to children each and every year. Did you know that they burn at a heat of between 1800F and 3000F? This can set clothes on fire, and make skin burn. While it is traditional to let children hold sparklers, make sure they understand the dangers, or hold them together with them if they are still very young.
Tip #3 – Always Have Adult Supervision Present
If you have organized your own fireworks display, you will probably be very busy with setting up the different pieces, lighting them, and running off so you can see them yourself. And it is likely that quite a few of your friends will be helping you with this, as there is something attractive about setting things alight and watching them explode. You have to make sure, however, that at least one person is monitoring where the children are, so that they do not approach the fireworks, either when they are being set up, or when they have been lit. Remember to always keep them at a safe distance that is appropriate to the firework that is being used.
By following the above three tips, you can make sure that everybody gets to enjoy the 4th of July, with an amazing fireworks display, and without the even leading to any horrific injuries.
